Revised Floodplain Maps

posted in Community Development on January 27, 2017

The City of Waverly has been granted a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to officially revise FEMA Maps 19017C0276D and 19017C0278D.

This revision reflects the reduction in flooding potential due to the widening and deepening of the Dry Run Creek channel and associated structures.  As a result of the project, the floodway and 1% annual chance floodplain has been confined within the channel banks from the intersection of 7th Street NW and 6th Avenue NW, south to the intersection of 2nd Street SW and 5th Avenue SW.

Maps of the revision can be reviewed at Waverly City Hall, 200 1st Street NE.
