November 29, 2012.  The Waverly Community Development and Zoning Office has generated a commercial development checklist for owners or developers of commercial or industrial properties.  This checklist will serve to better guide a developer or property owner of the necessary considerations prior to filing for a building permit and any site work on the property.  This involves initial consultation with City Staff to better understand the City standards for scope and setback considerations.  For more information on this checklist, you may contact the Zoning Office at 319-352-9208.

The Community Development and Zoning Office has posted the Waverly City zoning and floodplain maps in City Hall.  The zoning map is also available to view on-line through the Bremer County Assessor's office by selecting "Waverly Zoning" on the layers on the left hand side of the viewing window.  The flood plain map has an aerial photograph of Waverly with the flood inundation zone as an overlay.  This too may be viewed on the Bremer County Assessor's office web site.

The Comprehensive Land Use Plan for the City of Waverly was updated in 2011 and adopted by the City Council.

The Waverly Zoning Office oversees the rental property occupancy requirements outlined in Section 100 of the City Code.  The Waverly City Council has expressed a desire to have current landlords to review their current lease arrangements with the requirements outlined in the City Code and to come into compliance.  Staff mailed out informational letters on February 28, 2012 to known rental property owners explaining the rental property regulations and providing resources to follow up with to ensure compliance.
