Author & Illustrator, Don Tate is coming to WPL on December 13th, the day before he is featured at another event with the Wartburg Community Symphony!

He will talk about his illustrative work and processes for Duke Ellington's Nutcracker Suite written by Anna Harwell Celenza. The event will also consist of ornament decorating, an instrument petting zoo, and treats to share! It will run from 9:30-11am and is free. The content is geared toward ages 3-elementary ages, but all are welcome to attend.

On Saturday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. the Wartburg Community Symphony invites the public to attend a performance that will feature projections of Tate's illustrations and special performers will also include the Iowa Bop Collective. Click here for Wartburg tickets

To build excitement for Don Tate's arrival, we invite you to participate in a reading challenge that includes all of the books he has written or illustrated that WPL owns in print or digitally. Each book you read or activity you do earns you a badge! See how many badges you can earn before Friday, December 13th. Then join us for some special author/illustrator events above to hear from him in person!

Welcome to Waverly. Great schools. Diverse housing options. Robust job market. Top-flight indoor rec center. Outdoor recreation adventures of all kinds. Prestigious Wartburg College. And a safe and welcoming community of people who value the good life in a beautiful place.
