Watching and feeding our birds and wildlife is a great way to appreciate them and help them through our tough Iowa winters. To help folks better understand and identify common winter bird species and how to attract them with different feeds and feeder types, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Bremer County is partnering with several Bremer County libraries.
These programs will be presented by Ron Lenth, Program Coordinator for ISU Extension and Outreach Bremer County. A great family-friendly way to learn more abut the natural world around us. Local kids are also invited to learn how to make bird feeders from pinecones and corncobs to hang on trees near home.
The first class will be held at the newly remodeled Waverly Library on Saturday morning, January 18 th from 10:30-11:30am, while the next one will be held at the Denver Library on Thursday, January 23 rd, from 2-3pm. The programs are free and open to the general public and food donations will be accepted for sharing with local food pantries.
