Waverly Chamber Main Street Announces Chelsea Petersen as Executive Director

Waverly, IA, August 2024 — The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Main Street Program is pleased to announce the hiring of Chelsea Petersen as the Executive Director of the organization. A proud Waverly resident, Petersen brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong community commitment to her new role.
“I’m excited to be back in the community on a professional level and to help drive the organization’s vision. In the coming months, I look forward to getting to know our stakeholders and build new relationships,” said Petersen.
Petersen previously held roles at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, and most recently, served as Executive Director at PrarieStone Senior Living in Cedar Falls. Her experience leading teams and successfully implementing multi-faceted projects has driven her passion for this opportunity in the community she calls home.
“On behalf of the Chamber Main Street Board of Directors, we are thrilled to welcome Chelsea to our team,” said Bob Buckingham, 2024 Board Chair. “Her leadership is proven and her background in helping people transition through stages of life will be invaluable as we continue to grow and enhance Waverly,” added Buckingham.
Petersen will begin her role as Executive Director for the organization at the end of September. She resides in Waverly with her husband, Josh, and two children. Petersen takes over the role from Travis Toliver, who stepped down from the position in June.
