Waverly Trees Forever - Arbor Day Coloring Contest
posted in Leisure Services on March 28, 2025
Arbor Day is a special day where people celebrate trees and plants. Arbor Day officially became a state holiday in Nebraska in 1885. It wasn't until 1970 when it became a nationwide holiday. The word "arbor" means tree, so Arbor Day is all about showing how important trees are. Trees give us oxygen to breathe, shade on hot days, and food like fruits and nuts. They also make our world more beautiful! Arbor Day helps remind everyone how important it is to protect trees and keep our planet green.
This year Arbor Day is April 25th! To help celebrate Arbor Day, The City of Waverly and Waverly Trees Forever is hosting a coloring contest for a chance to win $10.00 in Waverly Dollars.
