Waverly, IA – The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently held one ribbon cutting in Shell Rock, presenting a new business with a First Dollar Award and three existing businesses in Waverly and Shell Rock with Progress Awards.
The Ambassadors met with principal Emilee Metcalf to hold a ribbon cutting and Progress Award presentation to celebrate the completed renovations and reopening of Shell Rock Elementary School, located at 214 N Cherry St, Shell Rock. Shell Rock Elementary recently completed significant renovations in mid-2024 to enhance its educational environment. The project focused on integrating modern classroom technology and flexible designs to support 21st-century learning. Key improvements include secured entryways, separate parent and bus loading areas, a media center, a gymnasium suitable for community events, and student commons areas that provide essential breakout spaces for individualized learning. The design emphasizes abundant natural light to promote a healthy learning atmosphere and situates classrooms along the building's perimeter, with adaptable shared programs toward the interior. These renovations reflect Shell Rock Elementary's dedication to providing a safe, adaptable, and forward-thinking learning environment for its students. The Ambassadors met with owners Ehren and Ashley Marks to hold a ribbon cutting and First Dollar Award presentation to celebrate the opening of a brick-and-mortar location for their restaurant, The Iowa PrimeHouse. The Iowa PrimeHouse, located at 202 South Cherry Street in Shell Rock, Iowa, is a farm-to-fork dining establishment. Transitioning from a successful food truck and catering business, they now offer a dine-in experience at their brick-and-mortar location, serving dishes made from their own Black Angus beef and other locally sourced ingredients. In addition to dine-in services, The Iowa PrimeHouse continues to provide catering and food truck options, maintaining their commitment to quality and community engagement. The Ambassadors met with vice president Isaiah Reicks to hold a progress award presentation to celebrate the anniversary of Herold-Reicks Surveying’s Waverly office, located at 2206 E Bremer Ave. This year marks a major milestone for Herold-Reicks Surveying as it proudly celebrates 10 years of business in Waverly, IA. After establishing its first location in New Hampton, IA, in 2007, the company expanded to Waverly in 2015, bringing its commitment to quality surveying services to a broader community. In 2019, HRS, LLC continued its growth by opening a third office in Clear Lake, IA, further strengthening its presence in the region. The Ambassadors met with manager Leslie Haverkamp to hold a Progress Award presentation to celebrate the recently updated façade and signage at Norby’s Farm Fleet, located at 1901 4th St. SW. The project, completed in January of 2025, focused on updating the store's facade and signage to provide a more modern and inviting appearance. Norby's Farm Fleet is a retail store offering a variety of products, including farm supplies, tools, automotive parts, pet supplies, and outdoor equipment. Serving both residents and farmers in the area, the store provides essentials for home, work, and recreation. These updates not only improve the aesthetic appeal but also aim to create a more welcoming atmosphere for customers.
