WAVERLY, Iowa—The Waverly Chamber of Commerce is proud to present Project Lead in 2018. The program will meet on six dates: Jan. 24, Feb. 14, Feb. 28, March 21, April 4 and May 11.
Project Lead is a professional development series designed to foster community awareness while developing individual leadership skills. The program gives leaders a broader view of civic leadership responsibilities and opportunities through direct contact with people who shape the city of Waverly.
Participants will listen to presentations, debate issues, participate in activities, visit with Waverly and Cedar Valley business leaders and tour facilities. Class members will also have the opportunity to complete a service project of their choosing, where they are able to demonstrate their gained knowledge.
The class is comprised of participants who are members of the Waverly Chamber of Commerce and community members who have an interest in leadership roles and community service.
Tuition for Project Lead is $395 for Chamber members and $450 for non-members. Tuition will cover all meals, snacks, materials, books, online assessments, travel and any other expenses associated with the program. Early registration is recommended as seating is limited to only 20 participants.
“We at the Chamber are excited to bring back Project Lead to both members and non-members alike. This program, geared to promote strong leadership building along with community awareness through its incredible lineup of speakers, visits and curriculum, is a great way for individuals to gain a wealth of knowledge and a better understanding of how Waverly works,” Waverly Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Travis Toliver, said.
