Waverly, IA – The Waverly Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors recently presented two existing businesses with Progress Awards.
The Ambassadors met with editor Jeff Forward to hold a Progress Award presentation to celebrate his hiring onto the Waverly Newspapers team in December of 2024. Jeff Forward joined the Waverly Newspapers as managing editor and does local reporting, photography, editing and other duties at the newspaper. Waverly Newspapers is a trusted source of local news, covering community events, government updates, business developments, school activities, and sports. The Ambassadors met with Director of the Wartburg Community Symphony, Rebecca Nederhiser to hold a Progress Award presentation in celebration of receiving third place in the American Prize Vytautas Marijosius Memorial Award in Orchestral Programming in August of 2024. The American Prize Vytautas Marijosius Memorial Award in Orchestral Programming honors the memory of the Lithuanian conductor and director of the Lithuanian State Opera. The award recognizes the best achievement in the unique field of orchestral programming, where the selection of repertoire by knowledgeable, creative and courageous music directors builds orchestras and audiences, educates young people and adults, and enriches the community.
