Santa Visits
Santa is making four special trips to Waverly this year. Families are invited to visit Santa at his holiday home located at the north end of Kohlmann Park. Kids are also encouraged to drop off their letters and wish lists in Santas Mailbox. Santa will be at his house the following dates and times……

Holiday Retail Open Houses
November 9th from 10am-3pm
Jingle & Mingle your way around Waverly during our Holiday Retail Open House event! Shoppers can kick off their holiday shopping in Waverly and enjoy signature refreshments at participating businesses along with specials, prizes and more! We will also have a Holiday Pop Up Photo Op downtown courtesy of Alexis Rose Photography! Stop down and get your holiday photos while you Jingle & Mingle around town and celebrate the holiday season! New this year we will be kicking off our Holiday Pickle Hunt as part of our Holiday Open Houses! The German tradition of the pickle hunt will encourage people to Jingle & Mingle throughout Waverly! Grab your Pickle Passport and find 10 pickles at participating locations any time starting November 9th and running until December 31st.
Small Business Saturday
Saturday, November 30th 10am-3pm
Small Business Saturday is an event that began in 2010 as a way to encourage people to shop at small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Small Business Saturday has become a national holiday campaign, and Waverly as a community will once again celebrate the importance of shopping locally.
Holiday Pickle Hunt
Saturday, November 9th – Tuesday, December 31st
New this year we will be kicking off our Holiday Pickle Hunt as part of our Holiday Open Houses! The German tradition of the pickle hunt will encourage people to Jingle & Mingle throughout Waverly! Over 20 businesses have pickle ornaments hidden in their location. Grab your Pickle Passport and find 10 pickles at participating locations any time starting November 9th and running until December 31st. Once you’ve found 10 turn in your completed card to The Waverly Chamber of Commerce (118 East Bremer Ave) or Denver Saving Bank (1810 4th St SW Suite 105) and receive a collectible souvenir, while supplies last. Denver Savings Bank is our sponsor for the Holiday Pickle Hunt and will be providing the grand prize which will be drawn for on December 31st. Pickle Passports will be available at any participating location. Happy Hunting!
Holiday Story Stroll
Saturday, November 9th – December 25th
Read your way downtown this holiday season with Waverly’s Holiday Story Stroll. New this year we are so excited to be collaborating with the WPL and our downtown Waverly businesses! Participating local businesses will have story panels in their windows for you to enjoy from November 9th through December 25th. The story featured will be Everybody’s Tree, By Barbara Joosse. Follow along with the story, create your own ornament and hang it on the tree in the heart of our community.
We will light the tree on the evening of Monday, December 2nd with Story Time and a Sing Along around the tree. The tree will stay up throughout the holiday season and people are welcome to continue to add ornaments to help decorate. *Please note that ornaments will not be returned after the holiday season.
Christmas Greetings on Main
Thursday, December 12th from 6-8pm
Get in the holiday spirit with Waverly's Christmas Greetings on Main Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The event features live holiday window scenes, an ice carver, hot spots featuring free Nestle hot chocolate and other holiday fun. Join thousands of residents and visitors downtown Waverly for this special signature event.
